Turkish Baths St James

Immerse yourself in the traditional experience of the Turkish baths at St James Leisure centre. One of the UK’s few remaining Turkish Baths; this suite offers the ultimate relaxation experience, to aid and assist rejuvenation.

Suditorium (Steam Room / Russian Baths)
This room is continuously injected with steam, allowing bathers the opportunity to relax in the hot and humid atmosphere.
Temperature Range: 43° - 47°c

Tepidarium (The Large Room)
The first of three dry, hot rooms.
Temperature Range: 55° - 66°c

Calidarium (The Medium Room)
The second room is a smaller area, allowing for a hotter, more concentrated heat.
Temperature Range: 63° - 70°c

Laconium (The Small ‘Jockey Room’)
The smallest, yet most extreme room.
Temperature Range: 68° - 80°c

Frigidarium (The Lounge)
This room is intended as an area where bathers can relax, cool off and enjoy a cup of Tea or Coffee and Toast.

*During a mixed session, swimwear must be worn at all times. The main changing rooms must be used for this session.
